Movie Reviews
Congofeet: Your Official Anti-Cuteist Site

I have decided to move the movie reviews into their own section since one column is out growing others at an enormous rate.

Snatch (type of movie: comedy)
Starring: Brad Pitt, some other peeps

I highly enjoyed this movie for some strange reason. My mom said she did not like it, my dad was indifferent, but I really enjoyed it. I was laughing though the whole movie at the idiots on the screen. The movie revolves around a stolen diamond that is huge. At the peak of the movie there are 3 separate stories that all come together at one intersection. It was like that one episode of the Simpsons with the three different stories. The only thing I did not like was the fact that sometimes it was hard to understand what the hell the actors were saying.

Snatch gets a rating of: 8 feet

3000 Miles to Graceland (type of movie: Action)
Starring: Kevin Costner, Christian slater, Kurt Russel

I enjoyed this whole movie. It never lost my attention and it had great shoot outs at the beginning and at the end. What more could you ask for... Elvis wannabes, big guns, death, destruction, and so on. If you enjoy movies that have any one of these elements then you must see this movie. The only thing that could have helped the movie out is if that 1-800-collect guy was not in it; I hate that guy (but he gets taken care of in opening scenes so it is all good).

3000 Miles to Graceland gets a rating of: 7.5 feet

Men of Honor (Movie type: Military)
Starring: Robert Deniro, Cuba Gooding Jr.

This is a decent movie about naval divers. Cuba Gooding's Jr. character must go against adversity in order to achieve master diver. Robert Deniro is the total prick of the movie due to his ego, he changes however. Although slightly drawn out there are no boring parts in the movie.

Men of Honor gets a rating of: 8.5 feet

Bedazzeled (Movie type: Comedy)
Starring: Brenden Frasier, Elizibeth Hurly, that make 7-up yours guy

Bedazzeled is a good comedy that is worth seeing if you enjoy this genre. If your a guy this movie is worth seeing for Hurley alone. Hurley is the devil in this movie and grants seven wishes for the nerd Frasier. The results of the wishes are funny and the movie is not all that long which is a plus.

Bedazzeled gets a rating of: 7.5 feet

Vertical Limt (Movie type: suspense)
Starring: Chris O'Donnel, Bill Paxton

This suspenseful movie about a rescue up near the summit of K2 (The worlds second tallest mountain; it is only a couple feet shorter than Everest) is a great movie. From begining to the end this movie keeps you watching. Although the movie has somewhat of a predictable plot it kept me entertained throughout the whole thing. Slight bits of humor are added, which I appreciate. This movie is a renter for some and a buyer for others. Look into it, it is at least worth renting.

Vertical Limit gets a rating of: 8 feet

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (Movie type: Fighting/Romance)
Starring: Chow Yun Fat, a bunch of other Asian peeps

I am not sure what all the rave about this movie was about. It was just a chick flick with sporadic action to keep thier husbands/boyfriends awake. Sure the actions scenes were fun to watch, but I could have done without the love story. I also enjoyed the ending which was different from the norm, I am not going to give it away just in case you want to watch it. This movie is worth renting, but for me personally that is all it is worth. However if you rent/buy it on DVD you do not have to read sub-titles because it is dubbed, I thought that was nice.

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon gets a rating of: 7 feet

Swordfish (Movie type: Action)
Starring: John Travolta, Halle Berry

This is a great movie, from the beginning to the end. The opening sequence is spectacular. Travolta stars as the bad guy who needs a hacker to get 9.5 billion dollars from some reserve online. This is one of those movies that shows you a glimpse of the end and then starts from the beginning and what led up to the action sequence. This was a very interesting movie to say the least. Seeing Halle Berry topless is also worth the price of admission.

Swordfish gets a rating of: 8.0 feet

Unbreakable (movie type: action/suspense)
Starring: Bruce Willis, Samuel L. Jackson

This is a wonderful movie, well at least I enjoyed it. There was mixed responses from my family, but I really enjoyed it. It had a comic book like plot line with real characters. It was very different, from all other movies I have seen recently. I cant really talk too much about the movie or else I would give up too much information about the plot. I would highly reccomend seeing it if you have not already.

Unbreakable gets a rating of: 9 feet

Cast Away (movie type: I dunno)
Starring: Tom Hanks, Helen Hunt

I heard from several people that this was a good movie, but yet at the end of the movie I did not agree with them. The movie was slow and moderately boring. The best part was when the airplane crashed, man did the first part scare the crap out of me. The movie had its moments, but the moments did not really get me into the movie. I admire Tom Hanks for his acting in this movie, however, because body language is harder to do than verbal language.

Cast Away gets a rating of: 6.5 feet

Thirteen Days (movie type: military/politics)
Starring: Kevin Costner

This is a movie about the Cuban missle crisis and all of the politics and "strategery" that revolved around the incident. This is a good movie at best, and while I myself was interested in it, because I love stuff like this, the average person would probably be bored out of thier mind. I know my brothers were, and although they are young, I can see where they might think it was boring. The movie is a little drawn out, but after all it is thirteen days.

Thirteen Days gets a rating of: 7 feet
