Schoolhouse Beach 2

Here are some pictures to tide people over, I have a lot more but you are going to have to wait to see those, I dont have enough space to put them all up. Oh, schoolhouse beach is a beach about 5 miles north of Bodega, it is a beautiful beach, but you would not want to go play in the sand there...it is mostly small rocks.

In all my years of school I have never worked so hard in my life. Bodega is probably the most difficult thing that I have ever done, but it it probably the most fun...most of the time. Some of the labs are boring, but everday being able to sit down, even for just a little, and look out over the beach...I love it. It reminds me about why I want to become what I have set out to become. Not many people can say that they love what they do, but I can, and I am proud and happy to say it. The lab reports are starting to pile up now, about 2 every week...and these are not little piddley papers...at least 10 pages long each. I am back in Davis right now, but I dont think that I will be able to get back here next weekend because of all this work. Okay, imma try and post some pictures, check back later today and hopefully I'll have em up...leights.

It has been pointed out to me that I have started the last few posts with the word so...after looking I have noticed that I do start off posts very often with the word so...but if you look even more you will also notice that I start off a lot of blogs with the word well. Anyway...moving on, the classes here are starting to get off into full force now. I am going to be turning in my first 1 page paper today, and then another two page assignment tomorrow. Then I have a few labs that I need to finish...the first is due on monday and the second is due on thursday, so I need to get crackalackin on that. It has been raining for the past two or three days now, well it has been the worst the past two days, but luckily today, the class field day it was sunny.

Oh, on a separate note I saw dr. wainwright yesterday and I greeted him and tried to shake his hand. But he was holding a mug in his hand, so unlike most curteous people, instead of moving the mug to the opposing hand to shake mine, he kept the mug in hand and gave me a half assed hand shake...I have to say this make me incredibly happy to know that I no longer had to work for his ass. It also reminded me why I hated him. Oh, if you were wondering why he was here at Bodega it was because there is some evolution/ecology stuff going on here and he was one of the guest lecturers.

Okay, I guess that is all for now, I'll continue with my sporadic updates...till then leights.

So, I have a break right now from class, and I have to say that there is this one professor that is downright hilarious. I'll give you a sample quote, but first I need to give some background on the topic. We were talking about how organisms adapt to environments that have low amounts of oxygen. Then the topic of the goldfish came up. Goldfish have to ability to produce ethanol (booze) as a byproduct when they are in a low oxygen environment. So here is what the professor said:

"Imagine if you were in a boring lecture, you know...you could just *inhales and holds breath*...hey *wobbling around* this lecture is not so bad after all."

Okay so I need to get back to class...leights.

So I am starting to feel the burn when it comes to being at Bodega. I was not feeling pressured up until today when a bunch of crap was piled onto me and my classmates. I have made some good friends here and I am having a great time. I have and I am going to be taking lots of pictures. This is (already) on the greatest times I have ever had in college, and I know that it is going to get better. This whole entire thing would not be possible if it was not for my parents, and I just want to thank them for pulling the money I needed out of their wallets. This is probably one of the greatest things that I have ever done. Love you guys, and thanks!
Also I need to thank my love for taking care of my fishies. Without her I would also be in trouble. So thanks my love!

Okay, so I should be getting to work now, I have lots of reading to get done...yes that's right...reading. Who knew moving out here would make me a better student, but I bet I can still find something to do that is not studying or reading...hey look at that...is it glowing...oooooh

So I made it to bodega in once piece...though part of the road was flooded. I am probably going to be spending most of my time in the computer lab and library here at bodega since it is the only place to go online. I cant go online in the dorm which is about a mile away. I might be hard to reach because of this, so if you have something important just leave me a voice mail and I will try and get back to you. The class schedule changes all the time so I cannot really tell you when I will be in or out of class. Although dinner is at 6pm everyday, so you might be able to get ahold of me at about 7. I hope that I will be able to post some pics later in the week, it is sooo beautiful out here. Okay, imma go cause trouble.

So I am packing for bodega and I am getting nervous...I am probably going to have some trouble sleeping tonight, but that's okay...oh, and especailly because of the time change...damn that thing..okay back to packing...

For my dad:

I broke my tape measure...the crappy one that I have, not the good one that you gave me. I figured though, that I should tell you this because you, out of all people on earth, know how good I am at breaking tape measures.
