well I have not typed a blog in a while, so I guess I should update or something before my mom complains that I have not updated. lets see...what to say what to say....oh on wednesday of last week it rained pretty good up here. we got about two and a half inches of rain with some pretty bad winds. I was soaked from head to toe...well acutally not my head...it was probably from my feet to my mid section...when I got home for my 4 hour break between classes I had to toss my pants and socks into the dryer to get them dry again...my dad said that he does not know how much rain they got on wednesday because the rain gauge "overflowed" with "rain". if you are wondering why I am putting quotes on these its because I checked with the weather channel and they said otherwise...in fact they said waaaaaay otherwise...in fact I am not going to say how much rain they got officially but we'll just say it was lower than a tenth of an inch. aaaaanyhoo, thurday was incredibly boring with the internship and all, it was more boring than usual as the samples that I had to go through did not have much of anything in em. Friday was okay, only had to work for an hour, so that always a plus. saturday was good, not only did I not have to go to class I got to sleep in...oh oh oh on wednesday steph and I went to petco and I picked up a new plecostomus, I know steph "paid" for it, but it was for me...out of love...he is only about an inch and half long...compared to my other one which is about half a foot, so he is soooo teeeny. wait for pictures later....so back to what I was saying...I dont really remember what happened on saturday, but I do remember that I made a pot roast...mmmm mmm it was really good. I was kind of worried that it would not turn out too well since I had to use water instead of beef broth, but it turned out just as tasty if not better...although I kind of changed the recipie and added some stuff. And saturday was my mommy's b-day, did you know she is twice my age...go figure...thats right, in fact right now she is over twice my age...thats right my mom celebrated 42 years of being stuck on this rock that we call earth...wow thats over four decades...almost half a century...ok, maybe not that much....so in closing for saturday, I would just like to say LOVE YOU MOMMY! :) ok now onto sunday, sunday was a pretty boring day...do some chores around this apartment, take care of the betta that steph took in because he was sick...not much stuffs, and now I am getting pretty sleepy so I am going to head off to bed...oh, and for my mom, I am sorry I could not get you a gift this year, but I do have something in the works for you...well and your lovely husband :p but it is mainly for you, and you will understand why when you do get it...ok leights

I got this email from my dad...pretty funny if you ask me.

Corporate Lesson 1

A man is getting into the shower just as his wife is finishing up her
shower when the doorbell rings. After a few seconds of arguing over which
one should go and answer the doorbell, the wife gives up, quickly wraps
herself up in a towel and runs downstairs. When she opens the door, there
stands Bob, the next door neighbor. Before she says a word, Bob says,
I'll give you $800 to drop that towel that you have on" After thinking for a
moment, the woman drops her towel and stands naked in front of Bob. After
a few seconds, Bob hands her 800 dollars and leaves. Confused, but excited
about her good fortune, the woman wraps back up in the towel and goes back
upstairs. When she gets back to the bathroom, her husband asks from the
shower, "Who was that?" "It was Bob the next door neighbor," she replies.
"Great!" the husband says, "Did he say anything about he $800 he owes me?"

Moral of the story:
If you share critical information pertaining to credit and risk in
time with your stakeholders, you may be in a position to prevent
avoidable exposure.

Corporate Lesson 2

A priest was driving along and saw a nun on the side of the road, he
stopped and offered her a lift which she accepted. She got in and
crossed her legs, forcing her gown to open and reveal a lovely leg.
The priest had a look and nearly had an accident. After controlling
the car, he stealthily slid his hand up her leg. The nun looked at
him and immediately said, "Father, remember Psalm 129?" The priest
was flustered and apologized profusely. He forced himself to remove
his hand. Changing gear, he let his hand slide up her leg again. The
nun once again said, "Father, remember Psalm 129?" Once again the
priest apologized "Sorry sister but the flesh is weak." Arriving at
the convent, the nun got out gave him a meaningful glance and went
on her way. On his arrival at the church, the priest rushed to retrieve
a bible and looked up Psalm 129. It Said, "Go forth and seek,
further up, you will find glory."

Moral of the story:
Always be well informed in your job, or you might miss a great
opportunity.

Corporate Lesson 3
A sales rep, an administration clerk and the manager are walking to
lunch when they find an antique oil lamp. They rub it and a Genie
comes out in a puff of smoke. The Genie says, "I usually only grant
three wishes, so I'll give each of you just one." "Me first! Me
first!" says the admin clerk. "I want to be in the Bahamas,
driving a speedboat, without a care in the world." Poof! She's gone. In
astonishment, "Me next! Me next!" says the sales rep. "I want to be
in Hawaii, relaxing on the beach with my personal masseuse, an
Endless supply of pina coladas and the love of my life." Poof! He's
gone. "OK, you're up," the Genie says to the manager. The manager
says, "I want those two back in the office after lunch."

Moral of the story:
Always let your boss have the first say.

Corporate Lesson 4
A crow was sitting on a tree, doing nothing all day. A small rabbit
saw the crow, and asked him, "Can I also sit like you and do nothing
all day long?" The crow answered: "Sure, why not." So, the rabbit
sat on the ground below the crow, and rested. All of a sudden a fox
appeared, jumped on the rabbit and ate it.

Moral of the story:
To be sitting and doing nothing, you must be sitting very, very high> up.

Corporate Lesson 5

A turkey was chatting with a bull. "I would love to be able to get
to the top of that tree," sighed the turkey, but I haven't got the
energy." "Well, why don't you nibble on some of my droppings?"
replied the bull. "They're packed with nutrients." The turkey pecked
at a lump of dung and found that it actually gave him enough
strength to reach the lowest branch of the tree. The next day, after eating
some more dung, he reached the second branch. Finally after a fourth
night, there he was proudly perched at the top of the tree. Soon he
was promptly spotted by a farmer, who shot the turkey out of the
tree.

Moral of the story:
Bullshit might get you to the top, but it won't keep you there.

Corporate Lesson 6

A little bird was flying south for the winter. It was so cold the
bird froze and fell to the ground in a large field. While it was
lying there, a cow came by and dropped some dung on it. As the
frozen bird lay there in the pile of cow dung, it began to realize how warm
it was. The dung was actually thawing him out! He lay there all warm
and happy, and soon began to sing for joy. A passing cat heard the
bird singing and came to investigate. Following the sound, the cat
discovered the bird under the pile of cow dung, and promptly dug him
out and ate him.

Morals of the story:
1) Not everyone who shits on you is your enemy.
2) Not everyone who gets you out of shit is your friend.
3) And when you're in deep shit, it's best to keep your mouth shut!

so I was typing on my computer, then all of a sudden my keyboard stops working...so I think, oh, my batteries must be dead, so I reach for my new rechargeable batteries and pop then in then try and reconnect my keyboard...and it does not work...so I try again...and again...and again...I update the driver...and I try again...and again...so frustrated I look at the batteries again...and what do I see in extremely small print under the battery cover..."this device is not meant for use with rechargeable batteries"...way to go logitech...I hate you.

I guess the nearest Robinsons-May to davis is about 300 miles away...I guess I wont be using my gift card any time soon, unless I use it online...yay for me...

I took my love to chevy's last night for valentines/burfday dinner...it also benefitted trouble kitties aka feral kitties...so all was good...I like the food there at chevys but I dont think I could go often at all, its okay, but there is a lot better out there...yeah so...I did not go to the internship thing for today, I am getting increasingly bitter at the fact that I dont have the PTA number to get units for the class, so I emailed him. well the long weekend kind of lulled me into this sense of not wanting to go to school, but I still pryed my ass out of bed at 7 in the morn to go to class. I wore my boots thinking it was going to rain...but it didnt, which did not surprise me at all because I wore my boots, and it never rains when I am wearing them in preparation for rain...oh well, its supposed to rain later this week, so I guess I'll try then. I feel myself slacking off again, steph has been trying to get my ass in gear, but she can only be of so much help, I need to do the rest...I feel like such a slacker and I dont like it...however I did spend the last 3 hours reading and doing my homework so I feel a bit better, I just have to keep it up...oh yeah, I also managed to break stephs cell phone with my falling mag light of doom...so there's another thing that I am going to have to pay for because of my big shoulders...thank you father....okay, so anyway, I am off to bed, I gotta wake up at 7 again...but its thursday...so thats a good thing, wow this week is really short...why cant all weeks be like this...oh yeah and steph got a digital camera from her mom and dad, it works great except that we cant get it to upload onto any of our comps...which I think you can probably tell from her blogger...she is such a potty mouth...once we get that up and running though expect to see some pics of my fishies...ok g'night

yesterday morning I woke up and I cursed my alarm clock, not because it was too early (well, it was too early, but I am used to it now) but because it did something else...I was having a dream and I was talking to my dad, and while I dont remember the exact situation of the dream I do remember it was very urgent and crucial to my well being, then when my dad said ok James, if the most important thing you do is *BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP* and I yelled "DAMMIT" at the top of my lungs...and then proceeded to normally push the button to turn off my alarm. I guess I yelled dammit in my half awakened stupor and proceeded normally to what I usually do....apparently I also woke up tamo...just to show how loud I yelled...ok so in summation...stupid alarm.

number of steps yesterday: 8,279
approx number of feet walked: 22,767 ft

this is something new...I plan to put it as often as I can...I know how curious you guys are to how many steps I take in any given day...I calculated my stride to be only 2 and 3/4 feet, even though I probably take 3 foot strides.

people...stop sending me these...k thanks

also did you know that martin luther king plagiarized his doctoral dissertation...go figure.

ok back to work now.

well, one of my female bettas died (Clara) and a baby loachy...I am not too sure why they died, but I will miss them both very much...

Monday, February 09, 2004
oh...this is for everyone...dont open email from people that you dont know that says "Hi" or "Hello" in the subject line....I dont know what virus it is exactly but I am sure it is a virus. I also got one that says "Server Update" or something like that...so just watch out, and stick to what you know about emails and opening attachments. I even got one of these things from the registrar here at ucdavis...so that shows that no system is safe...hrm...maybe I should windows update....

ok well, today was about a 7 on the suckometer....you know, and above average sucky day...it all started off with me waking up late for my class today...well it was not late, but it was later than I had planned, especially since I had a midterm in it. I decided to wake up early to study for my midterm...around 5:30/6 in the morn for my 8 in the morn class...however my brain thought otherwise as it cleverly guised me into turning my alarm off when I was still asleep...I am not kidding, I had a dream that my alarm went off and I could not shut it off...well untill I fiddled with a bunch of buttons....and to my dismay I think it was not a dream at all, and in fact I shut off my alarm in reality....luckily I set the alarm on my phone to go off when I need to wake up at 7. well the midterm was crappy. I thought it was going to be all multiple choice, but it wasnt. He told us half the test was going to be true/false and the other half fill in the blank. I thought ok, easy stuff. but to my dismay there were 40 true/false questions and the fill in the blank were short answer questions. And the true false questions were not your simple the whole statement is false kinda thing, they require you to think. they have like 3 facts in each question, and if one of those is false the whole thing is false...which seems easy until you get to those ones where you say "oh thats true...thats true...I dont know that one, and thats true" to these facts...you are totally screwed because if that one that you dont know is false then the whole thing is false arggh....so on a lighter note I had to register for my classes today, and of course I did not get the classes that I had orginally planned, because I never get the classes that I want. So I had to plan them out on the fly again. I also did my first day of interning...I guess thats what you call it. It was for two hours today...boring stuff, I need to bring some music...but otherwise okay.

On some non-school related stuffs, my very loved plecostomus is sick...he is the algae eater that I have raised from a 2 and a half inch sissy to a 5 and 3/4 inch behemoth in a couple months. I dont know why he is sick exactly. He ate one of my other fish, and I think it isnt sitting too well with his stomach considering he is a herbivore. I put him in my ten gallon tank with some medication and some sea salt, yes fresh water fish can live in sea salt, and in fact it is good to put some in to keep em healthy, it prevents bacteria and what not, and also kills them. so Charlie is in a tank that is hopefully killing whatever is trying to get to him. he seems to be doing a bit better. he is not showing the very troubling signs that he was showing before. also one of my female betta's was doing some stuff that I did not like...so she is in the tank with charlie...she is also getting better. ok, well I gotta go, I have to finish up on my take home midterm. leights.

I have no clue why, but for some reason this is entertaining. you need your sound on to enjoy it.

oh, this is entertaining too...but not as entertaining as the one above...also need sound on.

interesting quiz...funny as hell. I like the grandpa simpson quote "Youre as dumb as a mule and twice as ugly. If a strange man offers you a ride, I suggest you take it." haha, thats great.

Homer driving asleep
"Lisa, if you don't like your job, you don't
strike. You just go in every day and do it
really half-assed. That's the American
way!" Well, you're really really lazy. You
manage to get by, but you never put any effort
into anything you do. You most likely enjoy
watching TV, sleeping, eating, and doing stuff
of the sort. Get active. You're a fat, lazy
idiot.

I am going to be starting my internship soon, I am not too sure when, but it will probably be this week. I got a new fish, this time its a betta. I put him in my garfield tank, since their water does not need a filter of any sort. I also got a couple more clown loaches and a couple dwarf neon gourami's. I have not really looked for pics of these guys so you know what they look like, and I dont really intend on looking it up, since I am lazy and all. if you want to see my fish you can come up here and look for yourself. I got an email from the library about a few job openings that they have. They said that even though I did not get an interview last time I applied that I should apply again because I had a stand out resume or something like that. I am debating on if I should go pick another application up and try and pull about ten hours of internship and ten hours of work, or just stick with the internship only. I would really like the money...well we'll see if I have the time to pick one up. I took a midterm this week, it was for bio 104, I am not too sure how I did, but I feel very indifferent about it. last quarter he took away points for getting a muliple choice question wrong, but he changed this quarter thankfully. I have another midterm tomorrow, but it is a take home, so I dont really need to worry too much. I also have a quiz that I have already studied for, but if would not hurt to look over my notes...well actually I read some of the book, but I have not looked over my notes, so I should probably look them over. AAAAAAAAAAAAnywho I gotta get going its sleepy time since I need to get up at 7. g'night
